Saffy congratulates her daughter, Brenda, on becoming a brood bitch (and also a demonstration dog) for Dogs for Good.
Saffy working
As she had shown an aptitude for training, I decided to have a go at the Show Gundog Working Certificate which she passed.
I then continued taking her to classes and started entering working tests. I was very naive going to working tests with my show bred and she picked up a lot of " 0 " scores, but by taking part we gained a lot of experience.
In 2010, with the Midland Golden Retriever Club, and in a very good entry of 20 other working bred Labradors, my show bred girl absolutely thrilled me by winning a Novice Dog/Novice Handler working test.
When out picking up, Saffy was a very reliable game finder and had a lot of drive and determination, she also was a real pleasure to watch as she carried herself beautifully, was foot sure, accurate and stylish.
Thank you, dear Saffy, for being so brilliant and for teaching me so much.
