990's - My first Labrador was a good looking and biddable working bred girl, a friend bred her bitch who carried the Sandringham affix and I had one of her puppies. Sadly the pedigree is lost.
She was a fabulous Labrador who grew up with my young children and sparked my interest in the breed.
In 2005 I bought a show bred bitch called Wren and started showing her and also began some gundog training. However, it was with her daughter, Saffy, that we hit the highest level in the show ring but who also took me deeper into the world of working dogs.
Dogs I have owned, or ones bred by me, have gained Challenge certificates, Reserve Challenge certificates, Stud book numbers, Show Gundog Working Certificates, Working Gundog Certificates on game or on dummies, a Novice Dog/Novice Handler working test winner, a Puppy working test winner and some awards at Novice working tests.
I am also very proud of my dogs that have been placed with the canine assistance charities (ones which are accredited members of Assistance Dogs UK), either as brood bitches for them or in a working partnership.
I was the working test secretary for 5 years for the Cotswold and Wyevern LRC and I have qualified to be included on the A list of Labrador show judges and completed my first championship show appointment in 2023.
